Clearwater is a 90-minute drive
from Orlando and Sanford International Airports, an easy
four hour drive from Miami International Airport and
less than a day's drive from all major cities in
Florida, including Key West at Florida's southernmost
tip.
Three airports just minutes
from the beaches make your arrival quick and easy. Both
Tampa International Airport (19 miles to the
beach) and the
St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport (11
miles to the beach) have been recently renovated from
top to bottom. The Official Airline Guide has chosen
Tampa International Airport as one of the five best
airports in the world and Conde Nast has ranked
it the best airport in the United States and 3rd best in
the world. Airport shuttles and rental cars are
available at both airports.
Clearwater Executive Airpark is designed for small
private and corporate aircraft.
You won't need a car on Clearwater Beach. Although
everything is within easy walking distance, consider the www.ClearwaterJolleyTrolley.com, a San Francisco-style trolley car,
which travels throughout Clearwater Beach and into
downtown. The Jolley Trolley route has been extended to
include Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs and Dunedin over the
weekends. Catch the
Suncoast Beach Trolley to explore the many unique
beach communities stretching from Clearwater's Sand Key
south to Pass-A-Grille. Connecting trolleys and buses
travel inland to various shopping venues and to St.
Petersburg's downtown museums. Several companies offer
tours, including transportation, to Tampa and Orlando
attractions.
Bus transportation is available throughout Pinellas
County via
Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA).
Taxi cabs cannot be hailed from the street as in other
communities; either call a cab company or ask a local
business to call for you.
